BEER BREAD
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 12-oz can or bottle of beer

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a non-stick loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Mix all ingredients well. Pour into pan; bake for approximately 1 hour.

Variations:

  • add some herbs or a bit of cheese
  • use a fruit beer and add some small bits of fruit
  • use a honey wheat beer and add bits of nuts
  • use a seasonal or fancy beer for a different taste
  • melt a tablespoon of butter on top of hot bread

**To make your own self-rising flour** add 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder and a pinch of salt to each cup of all-purpose flour.
